capisco perfettamente il tuo parere...
tu sarai sicuramente una di quelli che si sono lavati la coscienza con un paio di sms....
io invece ti dico che ho 3 amici alle maldive, conosciuti in crociera, locali, che hanno ciascuno 3 figli e se il turismo si ferma (visto che alle maldive può benissimo non fermarsi) saranno 9 bimbi senza mangiare....
(visto che i papà fanno i mozzi in barca)
mi sento molto più utile ad aiutare 9 bimbi che a piangere 100000 morti.
comunque il gli mando giu' dei vestiti a sti bimbi, meglio degli sms che servono certamente anche a paragre lo stipendio dei 3000 (tre-mi-la) dipendenti dell'UNICEF negli uffici di roma.

Pur non condividendo la tua idea non ti contesto assolutamente che tu l'abbia esposta. Ci mancherebbe.
Secondo il mio modesto parere in riferimento alle Maldive andarci e rimettere in moto le attività turistiche portando soldi e materiale direttamente non trovo che vada ad intralciare la macchina dei soccorsi. Le Maldive non sono state distrutte (come purtroppo invece Sri Lanka, la Thailandia e l'Indonesia) e anche Sri Lanka non andrebbe abbandonato pensando che la maggior parte del turismo dell'isola si svolge principalmente nel circuito dei parchi e dei favolosi monumenti (statue e tepli). Portare anche a loro con la nostra presenza valuta fresca può essere uno dei modi di aiutarli.

Il Dhivehiobserver è un giornale d'opposizione molto critico verso il governo, governo che sta invitando i turisti ad andare là.
L'opposizione, alla mia domanda che si puo' riassumere così: "il turismo alle Maldive in questo momento è inopportuno?"
risponde:
"Se la tua isola è agibile, per favore parti. Le Maldive hanno bisogno di tutti i finanziamenti che le possono aiutare"

The Malé International Airport, located on the island of Hulhlue in North Malé Atoll has become fully operational from 29th December 2004, after some disruptions due to flooding as a result of the earthquake off the west coast of Northern Sumatra, on December 26, 2004. The seaplanes that operate between the airport and resorts have also resumed their operations. Hence the access to the Maldivian resort islands is again well established. This, together with the easing of two travel advisories by the United Kingdom and Australia who together generate over 20 percent of tourists to the Maldives, brought a sigh of relief to the tourism industry of the Maldives.
Even though the Ministry of Tourism has finished its initial assessment of the damage to the 87 tourist resorts, and reported three tourist fatalities, the damage to the nation's 200 inhabited islands are being assessed and the results are shocking for the Maldivians who have never been exposed to such a natural disaster - in its entire recorded history. So far there have been 62 Maldivian fatalities and 73 locals are reported missing. Many island communities have been displaced and over 10,000 locals are homeless.
The tourism industry contributes over 30% to the GDP of the Maldives, and the livelihood of many Maldivians depend on it. Hence any negative impact on the tourism industry is expected to have direct effects on the welfare of the Maldivian community. "

caro visitatore anche io ho ascoltato ieri sera le parole di Bertolaso e non essendo d'accordo con lui soprattutto per quanto riguarda le Maldive, ho provato anche io a scrivere al Dhivehi Observer <dhivehiobserver@gmail.com> per sapere quello che pensano i Maldiviani: la risposta è stata di non esitare e di andare poichè il sostenatamento di molti maldiviani e non e basato sul turismo.
Quindi se ora potessi ci andrei sicuramente, ma per altri motivi personali mi è impossibile.
